On the Chopping Block

“But why don’t you like me, you bastard?!” * For nearly 21 years, Hyerin has suffered from a seemingly endless one-sided crush. Her target? Jung Jaeyoon—her brother’s best friend, a guy as soft and sweet as cotton candy. “I like you.” “Hyerin… I’m sorry.” Year after year, her confessions were met with rejection. Tired of the cycle, she finally decides to bury her feelings with a lie. “I’m over you. Finally graduating from this 20-year-long mess. God, I was so done with it.” But one night, she sees a side of Jaeyoon she’s never seen before. A moment unforgettable… yet one that only she remembers. “You’re mine.” His parting words sound too much like a goodbye. So Hyerin makes one final decision—to put him on the chopping block and test him once and for all. “You never wavered, not even once?” “No. Never.” “Prove it, then.” Will Hyerin finally uncover the truth in Jaeyoon’s heart?
