Summary
An outcast from the imperial family due to her freewheeling attitude and refusal to get married, Princess Melody Corbella wants nothing more than to live life on her own terms and protect the people of the empire. Using her secret powers to sneak out of the palace to influence affairs from behind the scenes, she ends up drawing the attention of the handsome imperial guard, Caisar Bethel. Though she avoided romance until now, could love finally bloom for this crazy flower?

... and the second season of the Anime did a better job of pacing than I thought they would. I think they moved the Elf village arc from before hostilities with the Principality began to the inter-war period, aka the start of the second season, and used that to pad it out. Good call if that's what they did. In any event. Good season.
