Summary
A sinister ritual, a city hidden away by the gods, a truth buried in darkness; only a baby survived, and 15 years later, the revelation comes again. The next generation, their fates intertwined, set out on a journey to uncover the truth, and the beholder of the abyss perhaps never left.
I'm guessing the author finally realized just how deep the plot-hole was that he had dug himself into. Funny how it required an exposition dump in the form of a letter to move things along to the next story-arc.
