Summary
The twin sister—Giovinetta Valdemar, or Lady Devil herself, branded as such after her husband’s heart was ripped out on their wedding night. The twin brother—Johannes Valdemar, the exalted hero and shining sun of House Valdemar. Torn from Johannes by their mother as children, Giovinetta can only glimpse her unrestricted brother through the single window in the room where she’s kept under lock and key. So when Giovinetta is next betrothed to a much older nobleman, the fear of yet another cage drives her to make a desperate plea for help to the devil of Ducommun—a wish that is answered by transforming Johannes into a devil himself! Will this creature be her salvation or lead them both down a treacherous and forbidden path?
... and the second season of the Anime did a better job of pacing than I thought they would. I think they moved the Elf village arc from before hostilities with the Principality began to the inter-war period, aka the start of the second season, and used that to pad it out. Good call if that's what they did. In any event. Good season.
